DISCO
Glitter
Disco sends flashes and sparkles of color through the lens.
This glitter has been carefully selected for optimal performance. The color can be changed in minutes by simply swapping out the particles. Mix and match colors to compliment your film. There are currently 2,048 Disco variations available. More colors are on the way! Contact us If you are looking for a very specific color.
Every camera/lens combination produces its own unique effect. This effect changes drastically based on the focal length, aperture, and light source.
Alternate effects can be achieved by using different types of glitter. The strength of the effect correlates to the size and or amount of glitter used. Larger glitter will produce a stronger effect. More glitter will also increase the strength of the effect. The color of the flashes can be customized using colored glitters. Red glitter will produce red sparkles, Gold glitter will produce gold sparkles. Colors can be mixed to create a specific combination of colors. Red and Gold glitter will produce red and gold sparkles. Red, White, and Blue glitter will produce red, white, and blue sparkles. Using a higher proof isopropyl will cause the particles to fall faster. In other words lower proof isopropyl will prolong the effect. Using alternate fluids such as baby oil will also change the behavior of Disco.
The size of the particles correlates to the size and duration of the bokeh. Currently there is one standard size available for the Disco Colors.
Disco Prism is available in three sizes Macro, Standard, and Slash (Shown Above).
NOTE:
Not all glitters are the same. KhanØptic offers Vetted Glitters. Vetted glitters have been tested in house for optimal performance. These glitters have great shine, solvent resistance, and do not stick to the glass. Vetted glitters can be found here.
KhanØptic’s User Manual provides a guide for finding the right glitters.

KineticGlass Disco will react to lighting within the scene.
Plates
Disco can be added as a “plate” after principal photography.
Using KineticGlass Disco on a black backdrop allows for the effect to be imposed in post.
It is encouraged to capture plates using the same camera/lens from principal photography inorder to be true to the image.
